NOT long after Christmas and around the time the weather can't make its mind
up, I decide to take note of my figure. Which is often 3-6lbs heavier than
usual.
And as the summer time (helllo?) and miniscule bikini are impending, I need to
bust a gut - literally.
Welcome to Nosh detox.
A friend of mine suggested I give it a go - if I don't lose weight, at least
I'll feel cleansed.
And I will have tackled any belly problems by knocking out nasties like wheat,
dairy etc - instead nourishing my belly with fruit and veg smoothies (and
grumbling a bit along the way).
Because the belly is the root of all my problems, the ABC Programme which is
described as Alkalise, Balance and Cleanse promises to help you say goodbye
to your pot belly in six days.
I've also been promised that there will be no hunger pangs, indigestion,
flatulence or acid heartburn.
The diet plan is based on the Viva Mayr diet, developed by Dr Harald Stossier
from a medical spa cure. The plan aims to improve a girl's overall health by
'alkalising' the belly.
So the first three days it's mainly liquids - breakfast is a soya shake or
smoothie, with a mid-morning drink, lunch is - yep you guessed it, a liquid,
namely soup.
Mid-afternoon is another smoothie, and dinner (whooopie) is actually a protein
snack like prawn thai curry or risotto - and highly delicious and gratefully
received it is too.
So I won't bore you with my moans or rants, but I should be very clear - this
isn't a walk in the park. Especially day one - and especially when it is
'that time' of the month.
Day one was disgraceful (of me). The first concoction was a cherry/apple
cider/bicarbonate of soda mixture in water - and set my mood off for the
day.
This is part of the 'alkaline' pack which is the main gut healing part. It
helps correct your PH Balance and relieve stress and help remove toxins.
Stress was certainly relieved on Monday - I burst into tears mid-morning, my
head was thumping when I went to bed, it was still thumping when I woke up.
I was in a ROTTEN mood.
Thankfully that was only ONE day - the other two days I've felt fine - and
even vigorously exercised (which isn't advised).
I also want to say that flactuence has VERY much been a fart, sorry, part of
this.
On the whole though everything has been lovely. Today I'm struggling with my
never-ending lunch of raw salad and seeds - so far I've been munching for
about 30 minutes, and I'm still only a halfway down the bag.
I shall be reporting back with findings and end results in a few days - wish
me luck!
