Random or what! Alex Reid was Tom Hanks’ body double in Saving Private Ryan!

This our favourite random celebrity anecdote of the week… Alex Reid has just revealed that he had a role in Oscar winning movie Saving Private Ryan… well sort of.

If you thought Alex got his first taste of mixing with the A-list *coughC-listcough* when he married Katie Price, he was actually rubbing shoulders with properly famous Hollywood star before he even knew Katie.
“I've done a lot of war films. I was Tom Hanks' body double in Saving Private Ryan,” Alex has told Entertainmentwise.

The expectant father also revealed that he’s worked with Vin Diesel, and it was the action star who convinced Alex to take acting seriously and attend acting classes,

“Vin Diesel said to me: 'Why don't you go to acting school?' and that is what I did.”

And he’s never looked back *ahem*.
